Slayyyter

Favorite part

The synth line that drops about 50 seconds into the track is so addicting that, at some point in my listening, I was convinced it was a sample stuck deep in my subconcious.

Welcome back to Song of the Week! I’m starting this refresh off with the first perfect score, call it a celebration. Slayyyter’s latest LP, “WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA,” was released over 6 months ago; this track has already accumulated over 100 million streams across all platforms. Over the couple of months I’ve had to enjoy this album, I’ve fluctuatingly fixated on a handful of the tracks, but I find myself coming back to this opener and lead single to ground myself in the grunge of Slayyyter’s new style and sound.

Its title acting as a call to action, the first verse exemplifies the storytelling that Slayyyter continues in the following tracks. The climactic tail of the song finally warns of the powerful vocals Slayyyter will be bringing to this new project. It’s so reminiscent of early Lady Gaga or even Britney Spears in her vocal cadence and lyrics, but there’s a modern synthwave sound guiding the production to a hypnotic, exploding emotion. It makes me wanna. . .

Check this one out if you haven’t already. The following 4 tracks on the album are some of my favorites from this year, if you want to keep listening. It feels good to be back, leave a comment below if you’re happy to be here. Make it a great week!
